At Kadenze, we believe in promoting access to education for everyone. As a part of this core mission, we are excited to announce the launch of our Women in STEAM & Creative Technology Initiative.

This initiative is dedicated to the following goals:

  1. Encouraging women of all ages to explore creative technology topics
  2. Promoting accessibility to courses taught by women in these subjects
  3. Celebrating and showcasing inspiring work created by women in the Kadenze community

What is STEAM?

Created by Kadenze member Vaia Tsiokou (view in Gallery)

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is an educational initiative that expands traditional STEM learning to include the arts. Incorporating a focus on creativity and project-based learning helps to engage students and cultivate a deeper capacity not only for technical and critical thought, but also for innovation and leadership.

Women are underrepresented in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fields, resulting in a lack of opportunities, visible role models, and community. Our goal is to promote the growth and diversification of STEAM fields and empower women to pursue their passions.

“I’m proud to be part of a community that recognises that creative practitioners can and should be world leaders in pushing the boundaries of technology.” —Rebecca Fiebrink, Instructor of Machine Learning for Musicians and Artists

How it Works

As part of this initiative, Kadenze is offering special group rates to organizations, businesses, and schools seeking to provide educational and professional development opportunities to their community.

Membership to Kadenze gives you access to a top-tier catalog of courses in coding, physical computing, artificial intelligence, art and design, electronic music, architecture, and more. All of the courses in the catalog are taught by leading experts, artists, and professors from top universities around the world: Stanford, Princeton, RISD, UCLA, CalArts, University of New South Wales and more. Successfully completing a course earns you a Verified Certificate of Accomplishment, endorsed by the offering institution and Kadenze.

“It’s amazing to be able to learn from so many inspiring instructors from all over the world. Coding is something that used to be intimidating to me, but the courses on Kadenze have given me a solid foundation and helped me find a new direction with my art.” —Sidney Ortega, Kadenze Student

Join a Global Community of Women in STEAM & Creative Technology

In addition to offering courses, Kadenze brings together a global community of passionate artists, technologists, and educators. Students can access interactive gallery spaces to share their work, personal multimedia portfolios, community discussion forums, and submit projects for feedback and evaluation.
