We’re excited to announce the launch of our latest course – Making Meaning: An Introduction to Object Design, Part II. Developed by Tim Parsons, designer, design writer and Associate Professor in Designed Objects at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), it is the second and final course that builds on concepts first introduced in the program, which focuses on an overview of design methods and perspectives.

In Making Meaning: An Introduction to Object Design, Part II, Tim investigates ideas that comment on the relationship between individuals and objects in a given environment. The course is an in-depth exploration of larger practical issues within the design process by reflecting on object design within the contexts of sustainability and futurist innovation. The course includes topics on social responsibility, ethics, and consumer responsibility. Learners will discover new possibilities for functional design.

The course goes live Tuesday, November 19th. The Making Meaning program is currently being offered with an early bird discount at $USD150.00 (original price $USD200.00) from now through the end of November. If you are not a currently enrolled SAIC student, you can take the courses for SAIC credit for an additional $400. Discover the course below and enroll to start learning!
