Today we released the second and final course, Gaultier to Louboutin, in our online fashion program, Style and Strategy in French Fashion. This course is taught by Donald Potard, Chair of the Fashion Department at Paris College of Art, and former CEO at Jean Paul Gaultier.

The course is comprised of 4 sessions that cover Parisian fashion from the 1990s to today. You will learn about significant fashion icons in each decade, and new developments in techniques and business strategies in the fashion industry, as well as luxury goods. From Donald Potard:

Fashion is art. But it’s also business, style, and strategy. In France alone, it’s a 40 billion euro industry. In this course, I will introduce you to the world of French fashion.

By the end of this course you will have a deeper understanding of key style elements that are unique to designers—as well as the ability to identify what decade a style is from, name various fashion and style techniques, and conduct thorough research in the fashion industry, utilizing primary sources.

As a Program-Exclusive course, Gaultier to Louboutin: Style and Strategy in French Fashion is only available for purchase to Kadenze Premium Members. If you are not a Premium Member, you can enroll in the first course in the program, Cardin to Castelbajac: Style in French Fashion, and audit for free.

Learners who successfully complete both courses in the program will receive a Specialist Certificate and 2 transferable academic credits from Paris College of Art.
